Final Reflection

 The future of social justice is going to be full of progress as well as having to face more challenges.  People are sharing information and spreading awareness about issues that we are continuously facing today and this is a right step into fighting against the unfair systems that are set up. This is a sign that there is hope for social justice but at the same time as awareness is being spread a lot of misinformation is being spread as well this is causing there to be a rift in our communities and is putting a halt into the growth that I believe we all truly want. 

During this course and doing these blogs weekly I have felt as though it is much easier to connect to social justice issues and the importance of learning about and understanding these issues. Not only do we have to understand the recent events about these issues but we have to learn about their history and really get down to the root cause and what the initial issue was. As time goes on the issues continue to grow and more things happen that causes the issue ends up being about multiple things at once. Seeing everyones perspectives throughout these blogs has also shown me that many people think like I do but also think about things differently in ways that I may not have thought about them before. This has been a truly fun experience and a very good learning experience and I would like to thank our instructor as well as all of my classmates for sharing your thoughts about our weekly topics.

As I continue my education and go into my professional career I will keep in mind everything that we have learned in my personal life as well as my professional one. This class has made me want to be more informed and take the time to listen and understand different perspectives. I also plan on looking into more issues and finding ways to support a cause that I feel strongly about. I feel as if I have always been one to speak up about injustice and this class has just made me want to do more to fight for a future that is full of more equality for everyone to enjoy.

Reflections on Religion & Spirituality

Reflections on Religion & Spirituality Three groups that stood out to me were immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals, as well as foster youth. I think these communities are the ones I feel a stronger sense of understanding and I know the challenges that all three groups face having worked with kids before, knowing immigrant families and the struggles they have been through as well as having many friends who are part of the LGTBQ+ community myself included.  These three groups are constantly faced with instability, exploring their identities, discrimination, trauma, and displacement but I have seen people from these groups come out stronger than they were before and working through all their problems to better their lives.
